Let’s face it – home renovations aren’t cheap. As impressive as the results are, the cost is often the biggest hurdle. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t continue to keep your house updated. In fact, below are some great tips to give one special room in your home a luxurious touch.

  1. Heated Sock Drawer

If you haven’t tried it, putting on a warm pair of socks is one of the best ways to start each morning. And while you can put them in the microwave, the results just aren’t the same as with a heated sock drawer.

You can either buy a new and stand-alone drawer, or you can use your DIY skills to install heating pads in one of your drawers. Either way, warm socks in the morning means a happy person.

  1. Rotating Shoe Rack

If you are addicted to shoes, then you probably can’t get enough of the Groupon Coupons page for Allen Edmonds. And if that’s the case, then a rotating shoe rack is exactly what you need.

Load your shoes into the short tower rack and then have them easily accessible for viewing and wearing. The great thing about this idea is that it doesn’t have a large footprint.

  1. Lighted Rods

Unless you have a walk-in closet, the chances are that your light isn’t doing your clothes any justice. In fact, it’s probably making it difficult to choose an outfit each morning.

Lighted hanging rods are easy to install, use minimal power, and give impressive results.

Similar to the shoe rack, you can either buy purpose designed rods, or you can simply install a LED strip inside a hollow coat hanger tube and rig it up yourself. Because LEDs don’t emit heat, there is little concern about overheating inside the rod.

For that extra touch, consider connecting the rods to a trigger in your door, which turns them on when opened.

It doesn’t take much to keep your home updated, modern, and in this case, luxurious; you just need to focus on the pieces which give a big impact with minimal effort or cost.
